The
Guardians of the Millennium has been appointed an official umbrella
project of the European Union's "Netd@ys" that will be distributed
into approximately 50,000 schools in Europe in Fall 1999. The Guardians
project will also be going into the United Nations' Cyberschoolbus online
network that goes into schools in 136 countries. The Guardians project
is already in schools across the United States working with various
Distance Learning networks. They include the TEAMS Distance Learning
Network that goes into schools in 29 states, reaching approximately
600,000 students and 6,000 teachers and is funded by the U.S. government.
The Guardians web site has been developed with teachers across the U.S.,
England and Ireland. We project by Autumn 1999 we will reach a minimum
of 15.75 million students worldwide between the ages of 8-14, and 700,000
teachers. We expect that number to grow considerably.
The Guardians of the Millennium is the brainchild of Vicki Lynn,
a specialist in international television, satellite events and new media.
She was, notably, one of the producers of LIVE AID, the interactive
rock concert between Philadelphia and London, which was broadcast to
one of the largest viewing audience in the history of television. Through
her company, Satellite Events, with offices in the U.S. and Ireland,
she has used her vast experience of international television and live
satellite events to bring together an extraordinary team of experts
from the worlds of television, education, Internet production, distance
learning, multimedia game/product design, creative writing, animation
and art.
We are working with a separate, nonprofit entity, the Online Educational
Organization, Inc. (OEO) which is a 501 (c) (3) registered charity in
Virginia. It was formed to promote charitable, environmental, literary
and scientific purposes including, but not limited to, conducting worldwide
distance learning for children over the Internet and teacher training.
It is the nonprofit entity through which The Guardians of the Millennium
is applying for grants within the United States. In Europe The Guardians
of the Millennium is working with various educational institutions
for grants and governmental support. All of this is in order to make
The Guardians of the Millennium an exciting, topical, highly-focused
product for the 21st century.
